up to you

just got word of this concept shop in toronto called, up to you. some fun products to see at their online shop from coat hangars to vintage terry towel soft animals.

dimitria, co-owner says "the idea behind our shop was to create a voyeuristic experience for our customer, therefore changing their patterns of choice. as a buyer my goal is to carefully choose designers from around the world, talk to them about their ideas and purchase pieces that promote individuality amidst a world of cookie-cutter imagery and products."

products shown (clockwise): vintage terry towel cloth softie; kaleidoscope cameras; baby plane spoon and baby cup.

forty new eclecto books

last tme i posted about these books, they were almost all sold out before we could get our hands on them! well maybe this time one might have a chance and i'm thrilled with the 50's design.

each book has at least 50 pages, including various ephemera from bingo cards, paper money and various other types of paper - perfect for collages as they so explain on their site.

from those talented folks at uppercase.

plastidermy

from the modern art design exhibit

i'm a bit deered out, but thought these sconces and chandeliers from science and sons were worth a look. made of acrylic, they come in a swan and hare version as well.

they were featured at the m.a.d.e. show held at the gladstone hotel in toronto last weekend.

(sidenote: i thought another exhibitor, bunnyshow had a cute website.)

bittersweet genevieve

i first saw genevieve dionne's work at cut + paste a while back and she's back with some great bags made from vintage fabrics and embellised with silkscreens of her illustrations.

each piece is one of a kind and you can also find some unique ephemera wallets at her own shop.

each pouch is lined and made from new and vintage fabrics, embellished with lace, ribbon and a found photograph. The photograph is durable but should not get wet.

bags run aroud $50 and the pouches $30.
